Helicopter Raids on Sydney CBD

Unfortunatly there were no parachutes.

Helicopter

I can thoroughly recommend these guys, Aviation Tourism Australia

Operational health and Safety improvements.

Recently at work, we've been asked to suggest improvements for safety in work.

I think this picture says it all.

The sign says, "Fire safety door, do not obstruct"

Sometimes art confuses me.

It's meant to be a work of fiction... but I would have to move this piece from the Literary work pigeonhole into the Shoebox of "Incomprehensible gibberish, also called art", which I would stash under the bed. Promptly forgetting about it.

"Eunoia is the shortest word in English containing all five vowels - and it means "beautiful thinking". It is also the title of Canadian poet Christian Bok's book of fiction in which each chapter uses only one vowel.

Mr Bok believes his book proves that each vowel has its own personality, and demonstrates the flexibility of the English language. Below are extracts from each chapter"

Honestly, this sort of thing makes my head hurt.
And when that happens I quite often get angry.

No-one on the phone.

I've recently been trying to get in contact with my mortgage broker... I think i've just figured out why they arn't answering the phone any more!

And on the weekend, we went to Goulburn to see the "lumpy underdaks".
I don't know about their webpage, but they play some good tunes. I hear they do weddings too :-)

Horsey people

It's billed as "the race that stops a nation".
Now in Oz, that could be the 100 metre front crawl, or the one legged dog frisbie chasing 100 metre, cause let's face it the Aussies would bet on a blind drunk man hitting a bullseye through a brick wall... if the odds were right.

So it did indeed stop everything at my work. Where they put on the big screens in the board room and invited everyone in for a beer and a bet. Nice to know that your employer can live it up once in a while.

As a bonus, I picked (it must be mentioned that it was out of the hat) the 2nd and 3rd place winners out of the hat, and ended the day $50 richer. There were a few comments made about the gambling irish!

But i'm happy, now I'm going to put that money in the bank and let the interest build up. Er, or not.

Still at least things don't look quite as bleak as they did last week, the Aussie dollar gaining about 10% value against the Euro and the US Dollar.
